T Tail Elevator
I am building a model with a high T Tail and are looking for suggestions on how to acturate the elevator.
I have been thinking of using two right angle bell cranks to get to the position I need and then a push rod. Suggestions are appreciated. Joe |
RE: T Tail Elevator
i have done a few t -tails on my 2 t sailplane and my minn craft rivets, nyrod was used to the control horn,no bellcranks no slop,on my jhh cougar,a doble bellcrank was used to activate the two torque rods in the elevaters,on my tomahawk a single belcrank was used.

RE: T Tail Elevator
I have used a pair of bellcranks (one at the bottom, one at the top), and it works, but the multiple connection points can generate sloppiness. If you can snake a nyrod thru the vertical fin and attach it to the control horn for the elevator, it will be lighter and create fewer problems...

RE: T Tail Elevator
Thank you both for responding. I am considering both approaches and like you I prefer the ny rod however space will determine what will work. Joe |
