Engine Question
Hey Everyone! [8D]
I have a 31cc gas engine . . . and i was wondering if it would be able to handle a 1.20 sized aircraft . . . would it be underpowered?? Thanks for the help |
RE: Engine Question
That depends on a few things:
- the engine (sounds like a Ryobi 31cc conversion) - the airplane - your definition of "being able to handle", and "underpowered" I used a Ryobi conversion on a Dynaflite Super Cub and a Chipmunk. They both flew just fine. I would not recommend such an engine on something like a CAP, Extra, Ultimate, mainly because of low power to weight ratio. |
RE: Engine Question
Well your correct about the engine being a 31cc ryobi coversion . . . and i wanted to put it in a sport plane something about 1.20 size . . . i want to be able to do some 3D . . . would this engine work or no?

RE: Engine Question
Probably not. High weight, low power, better suited to a Cub or other slow flying plane.
That engine weighs almost 5 pounds ready to fly. |
