Effect of magnets on airplane electronics

I am building a flying wing that will have a removable fuselage. The fuselage will have a usable rudder. I was thinking of using nylon bolts to connect the fuse tot he wing. I was in the hardware store today browsing and found some very small and very powerful magnets that would work great to hold the pieces together. I was just about ready to buy them when my computer building side of my brain said that they aren't good for computers, they may effect the receiver.

Would the magnets effect the electronics in the airplane? They wouldn't be touching the receiver or servos, but may be within a few inches which still would have some magnetic effect.

I I wouldn't thank so how ever if it is gas or glow powerd i would be concerned with vibration losing the grip of the magnaets

Magnets aren't good for computers because data is stored on magnetic media: hard drive, floppy drive. And magnets can mess up the picture on a CRT. Magnets won't do anything to the electronics in a radio receiver. And a magnet would have to be darn powerful to do anything to the motor in a servo.

So, as onepern said, the only thing I'd be concerned about is vibration causing the magnets to loose their grip.

Thanks guys. These magnets are insanely powerful. They are only about as large as the bottom of a AAA cell though. This is going to be on a slope glider so vibration will not be an issue. I think I will give this a try.

The magnets will have no effect what so ever on the electronics.

I did it. It worked out great. Here is a thread about it.
