Pro Bond and Vacuum Bagging

I am looking at bagging some wings. I see very little about people using Pro Bond for this. Is there a reason? Does it not cure well/at all in a vacuum?

I found one reference to this on RCU. Any advice would be appreciated.

That would work great. Pro bond requires moisture to cure properly, mist some water on the wood before you seal the bag. You'll have great results I'm sure. Good Luck :)

Thanks for the reply! As I am learning to use this sight, I am finding more on this subject. I have used saurgum in the past and didn't like it. Looks like Pro Bond and I will be good friends!

Do you usually use Pro Bond on your leading and trailing edge too, and bag it all at once or do you recommend using epoxy for these after the Pro Bond has cured?

I use pro bond on pretty much everything that contacts foam. You want to sheet the wings first, then unbag them, square the edges, and then add the leading and trailing edges. I usually dont bag these, I just tape them on realy tight, and it works great. After I do the L/T edges, I square up again, and do the wingtips and wing root.

Have fun :)

Thanks! I'll do it just that way. It will be a little while yet though, I still have to cut the wings in addition to a couple other home projects. Can't wait to get these birds done. There are four of us building the same plane. Great group project!
