Flat MonoKote
I'm looking for a flat finish on a small area. Has anybody tried spraying dullcoat over MonoKote?
I'll do a test case but was wondering if anybody has already done this. Dave |
RE: Flat MonoKote
I've covered a couple of entire planes with flat, clear Lustercoat. I am pretty happy with the results. And unlike what most say, I didn't 'scuff' up the Monokote with steel wool or anything. Had it on one plane for over a year and it seems to hold up pretty well.

RE: Flat MonoKote
Cool. I didn't see any reason why it shouldn't be fine, I've just never painted over MonoKote.
I think I'll give it a whirl. Thanks, Dave |
RE: Flat MonoKote
Monocote does make a flat black, OD, Gray, and tan. I am about to use the black on a P47.
Maybe I missed something here, but just thought I would interject. |
RE: Flat MonoKote
Those 'flat' colors are a bit more difficult to work with as opposed to their regular covering....just a head's up....
