Trike MLG position

Hi, I want to convert my Senior Telemaster to a Trike landing gear configuration. How far in % should the Axle line of the Main landing gear be behind the CofG? Thanks in advance for replies. Nigel H.

Not sure what percentage you're looking for. But couple inches behind the CG should work on a plane the size of a senior telemaster.

Thanks for reply. I was hoping for a formula or % to fix the position, so the aircraft wont be too light/heavy on the Nose. I know trial and error is easy, but I hate drilling holes everywhere, to find correct position. Nigel H.

G'day Mate,
WHat's wrong with it the way it is, I have one, & it is the sweetest plane there is.

Nigel -

I have been successful with this method:
The stall angle of attack for most airfoils are about 16 degrees or lower.
Draw a line on the horizontal side view of the airplane from the CG location under the wing downwards at 20 degrees. Set the main gear wheel to touch the ground plane where the 20 degree line intersects the ground plane.
