RE: OS MAX 55 clean

Do you have an air compressor?
I had the same happen with my GMS .47. What I did is take it completely apart and hosed it down with WD-40. I used compressed air to blow all the residue out. I repeated this process until I was sure that there was no sand in the bearings, crankcase, piston, sleeve...etc.
Blow the outside of the engine off with compressed air before taking it apart especially around the o-ring at the carb, and make sure there is no sand on the o-rings when you re-assemble the engine.
This worked for me and my .47 is still my favorite engine and running strong.
Hope this helps
Jason

clean the motor this weekend , stripped and cleaned with fuel from the garage.checked glow plug , attached to plane.
Started with the first flip of the prop! this is one awesome motor! I had to cut away the spinner of the shaft.
