Nicads for 12V starter

I have seen some guys with a new set up using what looks like two car packs under their starter instead of the old 12v lead acid battery. None of the hobby shops know what I am talking about but several guys lurking about in them have seen them too.

Where can I get one?

I bought 2 nimh battery packs. 6 cell, 3600 ma. wired them in series. cut two pieces of 1/8" lite ply the same size as the battery and sandwiched batterys between them. Then secured to the bottom of the starter with large tie wraps. works good and will spin my Saito 125 with gusto.
