How do I get Ultracoat Paint?
 

I am trying to find some cub yellow ultracoat paint for cowl and wheel pants. I am being told that this is no longer being made. Is this true and if so does anyone know the next best match for this color? Thanks in advance.

it is called Lusterkote.. and your LHS should stock it...

It is not spray paint though. You have to brush it on or have spray equipment.

LustreCoat matches Monokote, not UltraCote. You'll need the old UltraCote paint, which is not available any more.

But neither matched the covering very well.

Nelson Paints match pretty good, but it's brushed on or you need a sprayer.

They make a small aerosol device that you fill with paint and pressurize with a small compressor that may work OK.

Nelson paints are also water based, and have no residual odor and can be sprayed indoors, plus water clean-up.

Perfect Paints used to make spray cans that matched OK, but then the quality went away and you couldn't even get the paint to come out of the can, let alone match something else!

Horizon Hobby sells Ultracoat paint under the Hanger 9 Ultracoat brand. I use it a lot and it matches the old Ultracoat coverings fine.
