Solution for oversized prop-holes?
 

I have a ton of props, but the threaded shaft on an electric motor I bought is too small for them, even though it's the right size prop. Does anyone have any tricks for getting it to fit...and not wobble?

Cut up short pieces of the brass or aluminum tubing and keep slipping one inside the other until there is a fit on the shaft. For fine adjustment wrap masking tape around the shaft, carefully though!

Plastic soda straws work well-various sizes are out there-just go have a big mac and check out the supply. Cut a short length of appropriate diameter, and make a slit down middle. Fit around shaft, if you need more add them but alternate the slits 180 degrees from each other. All you need is something to center the prop until it is tightened.

Could you use fuel tubing? The large diameter tubing will prob be the correct size for most electric motors.

Don't be foolish. Why take the chance of a funky, vibrating power plant. Buy a new prop.

All the electric props I've bought came with a selection of bushings attached. Talk to someone who has purchased an APC electric prop recently and mooch a bushing.

If your props are all for glow, you might try a new prop for electric. They're sold with bushings, and they're very light.

I believe Hangar 9 makes a prop nut that's a tad bit longer than most, and tapered for just that.
