RE: BREAKING FUTABA NEWS

This is not really new. Futaba announced that months ago. Hopefully, the increased competition will force prices down. I really don't feel like paying $100 for a new AR7000.

I wonder when Hitec is going to release their spread spectrum modules. They say they're working on one but no word when it will be out. I'd sure like to upgrade my Optic 6 so I can ditch 72mhz for good.

Oh really! Then why hasn't it been in any magazines, on Futabas or Towers websites???
I don't think it hasn't even made any appearances at any trade shows.

The only spread spectrum item Futaba has officially announced is the 6EXA 2.4 system.

If Futaba announced this months ago, please post a link to the announcement in this forum.

Thats the first I've seen of Futaba announcing OEM modules and 9 12 and 14 channel SS systems.

It's actually been on Towerhobbies site for a month or two. I've gone there several times to salivate over it. Even briefed the wife to expect the expense soon.. :)

Sigh....No, it is not. The only thing about Futaba SST on Towerhobbies web site is the 6EXA 2.4 system, wich was announced by Futaba on February 10, 2007

NEXT!

So, what's the difference? 2.4Ghz is 2.4Ghz.

That's like taking a Futaba, JR, Airtronics, and Hitec and flying them all in the same plane. They all fly it the same. Why is everyone peeing their pants over this? :D

Yes, but keep them excited! When they have all changed to spectrum radios then those of us left with old frequency radios will be able to fly any time with no frequency problems, And we will not have spent one extra cent to do so!

And for a moment I thought the second part of the headline would describe how Futaba has again upped the ante and come out with a $5,000.00 radio....

What's nice about this is that this is not new technology to Futaba. They have been using it for many years in their industrial RC equipment. Also, unlike other systems, Futaba did not use "Off the shelf" technology, they specially designed their own chips esspecially for their 2,4GHz system.

I have personally flown this system. It has a single-piece receiver (unlike other systems) and the response is perfect (No lag whatsoever) and it has excellent range.

Well Minnflyer,
I have seen that page before. The first time i saw it, there were some dead links at the bottom for the 12FG and others. But, those links are gone!
So, that page only refers to the 6EXA. I think Futaba has something up their sleeve for Toledo...
Only 16 days too go!!! Haleluja!!!!! I'm taking my whole piggy bank:D

So, fly into Toledo.Then it's only 2 1/2 hrs on Southwest Airlines.[8D]

It is only a 2 hour drive for me :)

Yes, I read that same statement in their press release for the 6-channel FASST. But, this was the first time I had ever heard about Futaba Industrial RC Equipment. Had you ever heard of it before? Who uses industrial RC equipment? What is it used for? Where can you see it? Where can you buy it?

RE: BREAKING FUTABA NEWS

The town I live in is a "Railroad town" and believe it or not, much of the local train movement (Moving back and forth assembling cars or going from one track to another as opposed to actually leaving the area with a load of cars) is done by radio control.

I don't know if they use Futaba systems, but that is an example of industrial radio control.

You think a 10lb airplane is dangerous if it goes out of control? Try a 30-ton locomotive! [X(]
