Hi!
I built a super sportster 40 Mk 2 and i think for starters, the wing spar is a good place for the CG. You could take it aft by half an inch once you are confident and want it to be more aerobatic. My ele throw is about 1 1/4 " in either direction.
Cheers

Thanks, I was going to set it at the middle of the main spar, but I wanted to be sure. Thanks for the throw advise. Have a good one. AL

The spar is right, and I use as much throw as I can get, but I fly way more control than most. Put the star wheel on the servo and use the outside hole, and use the 3rd hole away from the surface to start and see if you like it. You can always add. If you have a computer radio, put it all the way in and use the dual rate first. Works great.

3 and 1/4 inch back from the LE of the wing according to my GP Supersportster 40 MKII kit manual :)

The Sportster was my first low wing model and I loved it. My ele throw is more on the conservative side.... and yes ....incase you have dual rates, put the 1 1/4 on the lower rate and test fly on that. It has small ailerons, so it wouldn't hurt to have a larger throw than the recommended one in the manual!!

Thanks for all the help guys. Flew the sportster Sunday and loved it. Little slow on the roll with the small ailerons but great flyer.

I enlarged all the control surfaces on my old super sportster and it was a blast to fly, it flew great stock but it got better and would knife edge as far as you wanted.
