I found a reciever I can buy used but the anteana wire is missing. can the wire be replaced? how long should it be? and does it need a certain gage wire? Or should I bag it altogether? thanks Bunster

I'd stay away from buying any used radio equipment unless you see it operate first or you know the person well.

I replaced my antenna wire and it still works great very easy to do!!!! Go for it.

Use any flexible stranded wire that is 28 to 22 gauge. You could even use none flexible wire but it would be prone to breakage if you did. Just cut it to 39 to 41 inches long, not critical, and solder in to the proper spot on the receiver.

You guys are forgetting that he is buying this receiver USED. How does he know that the missing antenna is the only thing wrong with it?

I found another receive, with the anteana intact. when I asked if the receiver worked for sure............I got a ahh I don't know for sure. thanks Bunster
