Servo reverser interference
I have a dual elevator on my Carl Goldberg Sukhoi and have installed a y harness servo reverser on them. I did this, so I can have the ailerons set up on two different channels and only use one channel for the elevators. My radio is a an Hitec Optic 6. When I push the throttle up and down there is some vibrating interference in the elevators, it seems worse in the left elevator. Why would it do this? Does the servo reverser cause this? Maybe I should just go back to the y harness on the ailerons and 2 separate channels on the elevator.

I have heard of other instances of reversing y-harness's malfunctioning ..... depending on the radio and/or type of servos that are used. Though they cost more money than the y-harness, a Matchbox (JR) or an MSA10 (Futaba), is a better option and allows you to make more adjustments. Bob

The engine was not running and I have plastic clevis on carb.

I have Hitec HS-475HB analog servo's on the elevators. Will the matchbox work on analog servoes?

The flutter only occurs on the same side that the servo reverser is on, on the y harness. The other elevator side is rock solid. I don't think this is a reciever problem. It is with the reverser. I have read several bad things about reversers. I don't want to take the chance of loosing this plane, so the reverser is going to be taken out. I'm wondering if I just used a regular Y harness and reversed the wiring internally, maybe that would solve the problem? Hitec gives the instructions to do this.
Any help would be appreciated, Brad Q. How can I reverse the direction of my analog servo? There are four wires that must be switched in order to change the servo direction. Two are on the motor and 2 are on the potentiometer. Switch the red and green wires on the pot and the orange and brown wires on the motor. Hitec provides these instructions for information purposes only. Hitec assumes no liability when modifications are made to servos. |

It is a ez mod and works great. |

you have the directions but weather they apply to the servo you are using you will find out when you open it.alot of servis these days use smt which does not allow you to move wires on the pot.your other choice is to position the servo so you can have the pushrod on the other side of the output arm.

Can't have the servo arm on the other side it will hit the stabalizer. I'm thinking I may buy two digital servos and have one of them reversed and run a regular Y. Haven't delt with digital yet. Do they both have to be synchronized after one is reversed? Do I have to buy the servoes, then send them in to Hitec or can I buy them directly from Hitec?

I just found a good article that convinced me my of my last decision.
My local hobby store has some Digital Hitec 5475hb's for $34.00. a piece and they will program them for me. http://www.modelsbuzz.com/forums/air...reversing.html Brad |

Correction they do not have a programmer, but I found a Club member that has one.
