Servo torque

What is the min.torque needed for the throttle. I have a super tiger .51 that will be used and I was wondering if a micro servo could be used for the throttle.A few servos that I looked at had 16 -18oz.torque, mostly what I liked was the weight of the servo, I will be using a flex cable on the throttle. pub

RE: Servo torque

I switched to a micro servo on the throttle recently for the same reason and it works out great. Instead of a 2-56 rod with or without a nyrod, I use about a .03 dia rod with a Z-bend on both ends and a V-bend in the middle for adjustment. With End Point Adjustment on the new radios this has worked out perfect for me. My engine is an OS 46 AX.

RE: Servo torque

While the torque is adequate, the resistance to the vibration incurred with the larger glow engines may be marginal. There is a lot of vibration feedback on the throttle pushrod in some installations and I would worry about the gear trains in the mini servos.
