Engine Break In Stand

Hello,

I am wondering what is the best way to go about building a engine test/break-in stand. Can anyone post up some pictures or plans on how to build one???

Thanks

Jason

HI Jason;

For engines alone... I don't know.... BUT if the engine is in an Airplane!

I swear by the Meroke Airplane Start up benches. They are primarily used at your field to assemble your plane and start or tune an engine. But there is nothing to say that you cannot build one for your own use at home! ;)

Here's the link;

Good Luck!

A couple of ideas. My brother built the one with a nylon engine mount and an old servo to hold the throttle in place.

Whatever you decide to do at least make it portable and capable of accepting a wide range of engines.

Pictures are an example, from .049 to 1.2 FS.

It all depends how complicated you want to go, This one comes from a school science fair project. It gives both thrust and RPM.

Here is mine, basically a Dub Jett stand with a metal base to it. The reciever in the front takes an adapter for larger engines.

Dang, looks like you could test a P&W R-985 on that stand there YUKONFLYR!! [X(]

That's some serious test stand you have. I like it!

Yukonflyr,now that is a test stand,when I first saw it I thought that if the sq.tube was replaced with a rd.tube you could use it as a post hole digger.I should have kept my roach holder from the 70s. pub
