Plane for a OS 26?

My Sig Seniorita flew nicely on an OS.26 4-stroker. And with reduced dihedral and ailerons added it is much more fun.

Any good 20 size type aircraft will work I like scale and two wings . I have one in a Tiger Moth. Just framing up a Great Lakes Trainer from a set of old 1977 Flyline plans the 26 fits perfectly inside the cowl. Great little engine just not a screamer.

Here in pensacola we fly OS 26s on a plane built locally called a Duck. It is a great docile flyer, built lite it works great. very responsive and hoot to fly lands tail high and sits down as gentle as a feather. Sorry I dont have any pics to show you if youll send me an email at [email protected] Ill get some pics and send you in a few days.

I am just about finished framing up a Flyline Models Great lakes trainer for the 26 . Saw one fly a few years back was cute as all get out.
Got the plan from a Friend and started butchering balsa.
As long as the plane is in the 20 size category and you don't expect to do 3D aerobatics with it the OS 26 is a nice engine to use.

plane for OS .26

I have an OS. 25 FX sitting on the shelf. Considering an old timer...the Ben Buckle kit "Great News". Got a response a while back indicating this would be a good combination.

I was going to say the same thing. I saw a guy flying this set up once. He was getting 40 minute flights out of a 4 oz tank. Looked very fun!

if you're ready for a WILD or acrobatic plane you might try a
spa3d. look under SPAD or funfly here at rcu. there getting popular probably cause there easy to build and toughas nails (cheap too).

Plane for a OS 26?

I have a Sig LT-25 that I built to use my old .40 LA engine I had stored away for a year or so. I built the wing with reduced dihedral.(almost flat). The LA is not a strong engine anyway.... and another guy at our club has one with at BB .25 and it flies great. The plane weighs out at 4.5 lbs and the old .40 LA even gives me some great vertical. (REALLY) !!!
I have 3 other planes with Saitos..... but I have flown this light,easy-build, Sig kit as much as any other plane I have this spring. I am trying to learn a few aerobatics and I can "rough-in" the learning process with this plane. (less nerve racking, knowing I don't have as much time or money invested). ;
The LT-25 is as big as a lot of .40 trainers out there. (and lighter)!! The wing span is 63" and it is a tail dragger by the plans. The kit is also laser cut!! I didn't use the Pull Pull rudder set up as in the plans. I used a control rod.

Here is a pic of the framed up Flyline Great Lakes Trainer 40 inch span bipe. She comes in at 43 ounces less fuel. 9 ounces less then the old plan suggested. Saw one years ago was a nice flier.
As seen the cowl hides the engine well.
The 26 is a nice engine just keep whatever you build lite.
