RE: Piper Cub J3 Trainer engine .40 question
Engine will be fine with the 10 x 6 for break in and flying purpose. I do not know if is the adequate engine for your kit as you do not describe the power requirements, JR Piper cubs are not trainers and they could be extended or clipped wings.

RE: Piper Cub J3 Trainer engine .40 question
Hi John:
I have a Goldberg J3 Cub that is 71 inches in wing span and I had it powered by a KB .40, and now with a Saito 45 Four Stroke. I went to the Saito because of the nice sound the 4 stroke produces. The 40 size engine should be more than adequate for the Cub. Break it in kind of rich and the 10X6 is a perfect prop for the .40 sized engines. Enjoy the Cub, they are a joy to fly. |
