Tru turn prop ?
Well I recently bought a tru turn 2" spinner mistakingly thinking the sundowner had a 2" spinner. ANyway I have a 13x8, and a 12x11 that wont fit in the spinner. I was thiking of going up to a 2.25" spinner wideblade. D you think I would need th ewide blsde option on a larger spinner?
Thanks, Erik |
RE: Tru turn prop ?
Don't think so. I have a Sundowner with a 180 Saito. What motor you running? My spinner was special ordered so the backplate would be sure to fit the 10mm shaft. Should be able to call where you get it and make sure your getting the right size for the motor and plane.

RE: Tru turn prop ?
Hi Erik. What prop are you using? Is it an APC? If so, then you'll need a "wide" Tru Turn indicated with a "W" at the end of the spinner model #. However, it's best to contact Tru Turn with your prop info and they either advise you on a spinner or cut one for you.
I have a 2 1/4" Tru Turn (I forget the exact model # but its not a wide) that you can try if you'd like. However, this still won't fit an APC. Let me know and I'll have it down at the Delaware R/C field for you. I also have a 1/4x28 prop adapter if you need that. Best, Brian |
RE: Tru turn prop ?
Thanks guys. The motor is a OS 91 surpass. I am currently running a 13X9 APC and prefer to stick with APC. I doubt it would vary much around that size. And thanks for the offer Brian. Ive been to the field quite a few time but with no plane. The nexstars fuel system was messed up and I put the poor minnow in the sunday of warbirds. So Im hoping I can get motivated to finish this Sundowner 50 by this weekend. It should be a good bit quicker than the minnow as its over a pound lighter I believe. I think Ill try and call tru turn by the end of this week. For now I guess it gets the stocker... [:@]
