Engine runup problem
Hi, I just bought a TT pro 36 engine...lots of power, but the only problem I have now is that the engine dies after a full throttle run when I reduce the throttle stick abruptly to the idle position. I've had about 10 tanks throught this engine, and I'm tired of fiddling with the low speed needle. Any advice for this situation? I have it mounted on my bobcat 25, pusher configuration. Thanks!

RE: Engine runup problem
It sounds like the idle mixture setting ir wrong or maybe the idle RPM is set too low.

RE: Engine runup problem
It could be the servo. It might be traveling past the normal end point when you move it really fast, closing the carburetor all the way.

Hmmm, pusher engine lots of running and needle twiddling with absolutely no cooling air. Could it be perhaps you are just overheating the engine and/or just to lean on the main?

RE: Engine runup problem
Hi Guys, thanks for all the suggestions. I thought about tuning the engine while using a pusher prop, but I used a regular tractor prop instead for tuning purposes. One thing I just noticed, though. There is a shim provided with the engine in the box, and it says to use it in hot and humid conditions, or when using over 15% nitro. Well, it's hot and humid in Thailand, and I'm using 15% nitro. I'll try the shim to see if it'll get better or not. I might lose some top end, but if the engine is stable, that's a small tradeoff.

RE: Engine runup problem
Under those circumstances shiming the head would be the very first thing to do and may require fuel of a lower percentage nitro as the engine is getting way too hot if you have been using a tractor prop for tuning.
