Can It Be Fixed
1 Attachment(s)
I covered a plane with cloth after attaching the covering There was a small cut in the fabric it looks like a check mark. Is there any way I can fix this so it won't show short of recovering the wing?
You will have to enlarge the photo to see it the check mank looking cut is about 1/4" long and less than 1/16" wide. |

RE: Can It Be Fixed
It is not painted yet and it is a polyester type of material. I don't know of any way except to strip that part of and recovering and recover that part of the wing or finish it and cover over it with a piece of trim. The material was very inexpensive, my biggest lose would be time. so I guess it's time to start over. I should have inspected it first.

RE: Can It Be Fixed
You can repair it with a small peace of the material, Stick it or balsa rite , and an Iron. You will see the patch but no hole;) Like vulcanizing a hole in a innertube;)

RE: Can It Be Fixed
I decided to just tear off and recover. It took about 15 = 20 minutes. But I am going to try a repair on and old wing and see how it works out

RE: Can It Be Fixed
if you had access to the BACK side of the tear, you could apply a small patch using WPBU or whatever "sticky" that you used. It is still somewhat visible, but much less than a top patch...

ORIGINAL: propjobbill I decided to just tear off and recover. It took about 15 = 20 minutes. |
RE: Can It Be Fixed
I stripped that piece of covering off and recovered it. It only took about 10 = 15 minutes. I have patched them from the back side. but I didn't want to do it from the front
