Perry Pump and OS 160 FX
 

I have an OS 160FX. When the engine is running it seems to surge a little bit, I am worried that it is getting lean and too hot. I want to put a Perry pump/regulator on it. I have never used a pump before, any sugestions on how to set it up, install it, set the engine needles and best position relative to the tankwould be greatly appreciated. Search in the pattern section. That combo is used all the time in pattern.

I have a Giles 202 with the OS160FX in it, and the Slimline Pitts muffler. Because of all the posts I read about probs with that engine, I used the VP-30 Perry Pump at first. I also used large fuel tubing that fit, but it has a bigger ID than standard size. It ran fine for months then started to surge, with the pump hooked up. I took the pump off, retuned, and it has been running fine ever since, probably a year. What size tubing is on your setup, and what muffler? All I know is the engine runs fine with the larger tubing and Slimline Pitts. Oh, I am running 5% Cool Power or Omega on it...it doesn't seem to care. I'm not saying the pump won't work, because many guys attest that it does work well. It just didn't work for me. Good luck. Jon

I am running it with a bisson pitts muffler and medium fuel tubing. I have also been running Omega 5%.
I will try the large fuel tubing and see if that helps.
