Foam transformer problem

Building a power transformer and drawing isn't clear on all wires. This is the unit on the NSRCA sight that Tom Weedon drew. Was on a sight were someone had problems but I didn't save sight.

Do you mean you are converting a PC power supply to use as input for a charger?

Sounds like he's building a rig for hot wire cutting and is having trouble understanding the plans.

If you are trying to build a Foam hot wire transformer for cutting foam with, you can save ALLOT of time and trouble by simply getting a ELECTRIC TRAIN power supply! No wiring needed, and simple to use. I've been using them for years! You plug in into the wall, and where the 2 out plugs are, that go to the tracks, you hook one side to one side of your bow,and the other to the other side of bow. Then just turn the trains speed dial up to a setting that heats the bow's hot wire, and your all set!

Hope this info helps you out, Art

RE: Foam transformer problem

Go to a Sporting goods store and find some 105-pound STAINLESS STEEL fishing leader wire. That's excellent cutter-wire for foam. You can try other pound-tests, but we always used the 105-Lb.

Hope that helps.
