Hi Chris,
Problem with a 40cc gas engine is in the vibration induced from detonation. The airframe is not designed to take such vibration, if you decide to put it on anyway, you have to be really carefull with throttle management and have to check the frame constantly. I think it would reduce the life of your plane due to fatigue.
