I replaced the canopy, cowl, and SFG washers with bonded washers.

Hello,

I started a little build threat on my blog:

[link]http://davidlepore.blogspot.com[/link]

I planned to try the 3W-85 XI CS as engine for the Yak, but in the end I had to go with the DA-100, since we have noise restrictions at our field and I couldn't fit a proper muffler in the tunnel without having to do major modifications.

Perhaps this could be modified in the GEN 4 Yak.....

Greetings,
David

Is there any possibility of getting a DA 85 on this plane and use the cannister? How about a manual for the build like the Python.

No, the DA-85 also needs at least 70mm in diameter in case of a tuned pipe and 80mm in case of a canister. The tunnel is maximum 60mm....

They ran one in a Python. The Python is also built for a DA 100 or equivelent.

The 102" is designed for DA100. It is not as easily balanced with DA85 as the Python! We won't be showing the 102 with DA85 but ........

Your period button seems to have something wrong with it. Or you are hinting at something. Please PM me with a continuation. I need to order a Python or 102" soon, but if there is an alternative please let me know. thank you.

I am looking for the quietest possible set up for my DA 100. I already have the cans but I heard 3 blade props are quieter. Are they much quieter? Does vertical performance, like out of a hover, suffer much? And what size and manufacturer is favored? We are getting noise complaints at my club specifically targeting large gas planes flying IMAC patterns.

Eric,

What prop are you using now? Size and brand.
3 bladed such as 25x12 Mejzlik will make very quiet. However 26x12 two bladed Mejzlik with Can set up should be very quiet as well.
Pull outs will get a little weaker with 25x12 but you should still be fine. It's a totally different feel on the 3 bladed props. They are good for IMAC for sure, it will be OK with GenIII for 3D as it is not a heavy plane.

Hope this helps,
Reza

Sorry for the delay, I am using Mezlik 27-10 and I love that prop! I just fly for fun, about equal time spent on 3D and IMAC type flying. Thanks for your reply.

I have had my gen.III yak 102 for just over 1 year now. I went flying today and to my surprise my canopy is now warped. Has anyone else had this problem and is there a fix for it.
It is warped enough to have cracked the plastic of the canopy.
