Default 102" Gen. 3 maiden

Got the maiden done on my new 102" Yak today. My friend who built it took it up for it's maiden flight and eveything went great. This is the first time I have seen a maiden flight that needed no trim! He did'nt put a single click in it and it flew straight. This is my first 100cc plane that I have owned and flown and I'm thrilled with it. We did'nt hot rod it too much today becouse the motor is new but from what I can see so far it will be a good one to flip around. For anyone looking at this plane to buy I would say do it.
Thanks to QQ for a great plane as I can't wait to get it out again and break in my new DA and see just how good this Yak can make me look! LOL.

I think I met your friend at D.O.G.S., is that where you got the plane? You're going to love it, it will only get better.

Hey Lee,
Yes that was him. I think he talked to you about the cutting the cowl as a matter of fact. Thanks for your input. This is going to be a fun plane!

Thanks Randy. The 86" was fun so I can imagine how much better this bigger one will be.

I have both, well kind of. I have the 102” and the 85” and love them both. The 85 is better at some things, particularly the fast snaps type of maneuvers but has a little more coupling than the 102. The 102 does a better knife edge and is better at slower speeds but they are both very fun airplanes. I have pushed both past what I thought they should take and they just keep flying. Great design!!
You will be spoiled but the 102, it’s almost like cheating!!

Thats funny, the cheating thing. Any plane that makes flying 3D easier is a plane I like for sure.

Nice to hear all of the good things about the plane.
I'm getting ready to install the gear etc. in mine.

Will be using 5955's all around.
How many should I use on the rudder?

Anyone else using the 106?
Curious as to how it balances.

What kind of total weight are the planes coming in at?

Thanks
Bob

bob you can get away with just one 5955 on rudder but two is much better.
