Default servo`s for 102" G4

i just ordered a G4 & i`m gonna use a DL 100 in it. i want to run hi tec servo`s in it. i`m thinking 4-5945`s for ailerons, 2- 7955 for elevators & 1-7955 for the rudder.does that sound about right?? i thought i would run 2- 2800 5 cell nimh battery`s for rec. power & 1- 2000 nimh for ign.?? no spinner & 1 R608FS rec. [or should i run 2 rec.s] i`m sure i`ll have more questions later but that`s it for now. thanks alot,
conk

Conk- Can you post some pics of the plane, I really like the color scheme my birthday is coming up next month, the wife has already asked for the QQ phone number.

I'm putting together equipment for my first 100cc size 3d'er. I found that I needed 300 oz torque for good authority on 50cc plane and wondering out loud if 300oz torque hitec 7955 is adequate for that big rudder to do KE loops. By the way, do HD 48" extension wires to the rudder and elevators need amplifiers in line or 6v power enough to transfer signal over that long length without amplification? I'm concerned about centering flutter with long runs on digital servos.

The ele in mine had no issues. You wont have much voltage drop over this distance. Where you get more and more voltage drop is from to many connectors. So get one 48" long extension and not 2 24" extensions put together.

There is a rumor in the forums that the Tower/Hobbico servos are just relabeled Hitec stuff. Anyone know if there's truth to this? If so, we should not expect problems with the Tower stuff, right?

Got my G4 102" Yak today. Manual states that rudder needs 500oz of torque. Seems that I'll need to put in 2 of Hitec 7955's vs JR 8711. Any of you guys have trouble with KE loops with JR 8711 on the 100cc size rudder?

I have one 8711 on my 102'' rudder with no lack of power. Big knife edge circle followed by a knife edge loop, no prob.

Another good alternative is the new Airtronics 94780M at 423 in/oz of torque.

hey greg ,
i`m sure you know this but it is a sweet flyer. i just got back a little while ago from doing the maiden on it. zero trim adjustments & it flew hands off inverted just like i like them to. with the $800 airframe, $700 engine, $800 in servo`s & arms , $200 in small stuff, i have $2500 in it. thats with the new 79 series hitec servo`s & aluminum arms.
conk
ps i forgot to mention i didn`t like the covering scheme on it that much but it looks better in person. the old scheme was kinda played out. mine came out at 26 1/2 lbs. 3/4 lb. of that is the 2 duralite a123 packs.
