QQ new 86" Yak

Can you mount the rx lithium ion batteries on the motor box near the engine. Won't they get heat from the engine if this is done????

I have two 102", I have my ignition batteries on the top of my motor box on both plane's and they are Duralite Li-ion. No problems at all.

You specifically mention RX batteries - but considering I run li-ion batteries for both receiver and ignition...

On my 102" Yak, my ignition battery is mounted on top of the motor box. No problems. If the cowl is baffled correctly and exit is correct are will flow and cool the batteries as well as the engine.

On my 85" 50cc Yak, my ignition battery is mounted inside the motor box. It's all open on that model with a floor to the motor box I installed myself. No issues on that plane either after a year of flying it.

Personally, *I* won't mount Rx batteries near the motor box for other reasons - possible noisy ignition could filter down the line to the receiver. Sure, it might never happen but its a rule of mine and thats a whole other discussion. Heat , I've never worried about.
