DA100 tuned pipes
Hi...Other than making a engine run a bit quieter...........what is the net effect of a say $250 tuned pipe???????? Is the HP gained worth the $ put out to get a system??? I'm up in the air about getting a tuned pipe or slincer type pipe but the net effect would have to be so great that laying out $250+ dollars for a system would be a no-brainer.
Thanks for your thoughts Sorry.I think I found my answer a few posts down on this site. If making it a bit more quite is all I would gain then the heck with it. I'll stay with stock DA mufflers. We have no noise issues at our field other than the dead silence you experiance if no one is running engines. Except for Mac...Mac has gas issues and a very tight bung hole which results in some very strange noises if he is at the field............... best to stay up wind of Mac |

SoCalSal,
Tuned pipe will increase your power and I like it very much but with stock muffler its always easier to fly 3D:) Thank you, Reza |

RE: DA100 tuned pipes
Thanks guys. But due to the cost of a set of tuned pipes for the DA100 ($500 plus ) and the modest gains at best in HP and RPM I have decided it is a waste of money to even think of this option right now. I mean if the pipes cost almost 50% of the price of an engine they should add much much more to the engine than just a little RPM and HP. It seems like all they add is enough power to make up for their added weight. Not much in either case.
But thanks for your time. |
