Post your pics of your first drop of 2015.
I Probably won't be the first, but I hope to get in a few on New Years Day.

The last few years we have only had the Muncie Rally, I heard talk of a possible Rally in NC in 2015, let's see if it happens.
I'm thinking sometime in July while school is out, Wil used to have his the weekend after the Fourth of July.
Just a thought on my part, not sure what works for others that may be interested if a Rally materializes

Well this is all I got to show for my first drop of 2015 so far.
I guess I wasn't smart enough to quit after the first dead stick.
Only had some holes in the covering, so I taped them up and tried again.
I wasn't so lucky on the second dead stick. wind was about 10-15 mph, and instead of staying with the wind I turned back in to it, plane stalled and hit the ground hard.
Like I didn't have enough broken stuff to work on already.

Good video, and you are right, the same plane.
Mine has a 40cc Evolution which I believe is the same engine as the MVVS, I had a 35cc then put on the 40.

I need to run the engine longer to get the air bubbles out of the fuel line before taking off, the fuel line from clunk to carb is 22"
Haven't decided if I'm going to try to repair fuse or buy a new one.

Thinking about buying a new one, and putting this one on the project list, repair it, make it a tail dragger and use the same wing for both planes.
I still have the Evolution 35 I could put on it.

I suppose I could take out the Fun Cub and the mini diver for my 1st 2015 drop.

Any way good luck on a good year of flying and skydiving.

Yes, the evolution is (was) the same as the MVVS. Not sure they are now, but they certainly were. Fantastic engines.
My stik is a tail dragger; set up for glider tug as well as drop plane. It's a great model, and well suited for these tasks. With an added drop box, it could easily take two skydivers (except I own the only skydiver in our flying group!!!).
I must update the skydiver soon though. He's 15 years old, but certainly doesn't look like any teenager!!! All these newer RC skydivers look so much better, and more maneuverable.
I'll keep this skydiver too though, because the older blokes in our group love having a go, especially the blokes that are loosing confidence in fixed wing models.

Just out of interest (and sorry to hijack your thread Gary), but what is the average weight of the jumpers (NOT including canopy) these days??

I would guess most are 2.5 - 3 pounds, but that is only based on what I have.

Thanks Gary. This might be most of my maneuverability problems because my jumper weighs only 500gms (1.1lb). I'll feed him up with some lead and see how he goes...

Wow Gary, I hate to see the stick like that. it was such a great drop plane.

It would be fun to know how many drops you had with it.

Time for am AMR Monster stick, maybe?

With a 50" parafoil chute we run between 2 3/4 lbs to 4 lbs depending on the angle of attack you have your chute set at and wind condition.. Pretty close to flying a glider.. add more ballest for higher wind and less ballast for lesser wind conditions

Thanks for sharing, still haven't got in my first 2015 drop.

Finally got in my first drop of the year.
Guess I should have charged the diver.
Had power to open the chute but not turn, landed about 780 feet from target.

This is the first time we had done a three jumper drop in a long while.

Well, as he was falling from 1,296 ft AGL according to my "Jolly Logic" altimeter, my son hit the switch to open the chute, and as he continued to fall with no chute deployment my son said his arms weren't moving when he was on the plane.
Then I said why didn't you tell me that while he was still on the plane......... and the answer was, I don't know.
Don't know if I never turned it on or hit the switch when strapping him on.
Oh well it was definitely not the first time for this to happen.
Initial inspection was a broken arm, and haven't looked any farther yet.

I'm sorry about what happened to your jumper.
After we load the jumpers up. We have each one move his arms.
We call it waving "Bye, bye"
We started doing this because once upon a time,I dropped a jumper without turning the switch on.

For Mac, Guy or Gary V. I need a copy of the score sheet that is used for the RC Skydiving Rally at Muncie. We have 8 members with RC Skydivers in my club. The guys are talking about holding an RC Skydiving Rally.

I don't have a blank copy of the sheet.
I have attached a copy of my score sheet from the last rally, so you can see the actual sheet.
I made a similar sheet and attached it in pdf form, if it is something you think you can use.

I'm currently building a new jumper and canopy, and wondered if you guy's are still leaving the trailing edge of the canopies un-stitched.
I have seen in the pics of some of the latest canopies that the trailing edge seems to be stitched now? It used to be a stability thing; whats the general consensus on this???

I haven't made any chutes lately, but all of the Mike (Germany) chutes are sewn at the rear, and also the R/C Skydive SA chute I bought a few years ago.
