constructing RC skydiver
Hi all,
Ok, so I have a couple of planes that I could use as jump planes, and would like to construct my own rc skydivers. I have a chute that should work, I just need the body. Has anyone used a large toy action figure? |
RE: constructing RC skydiver
YES! you just have to get your radio gear in it. Most of the one that will be at my Rally are made from action figure. They cut off the action figure head just below the shoulder, legs at the waist, and the arm. They attach to a box. Steel, alu. plastic...... i will post some pic on my web page to help you. If you ck out the pack video 1,2 you will see some of the other Action Figure Jumpers.

RE: constructing RC skydiver
*smiles* I've built my own DIY skydiver using a action figure with rather heavy mods. This however didn't mean removing the upper torso at all. I cut a large enough *hatch* in his backside, and slots on his sides for the servo arms to move through during operation. Though it takes alot of trial and error, I managed to get a good full throw *proportional, and using a V tail setup* the result is a cool looking and different non human anthro skydiver. The figure used is a 12 inch tall "Magnum" from K9 Corps not sure what the toy company is that used to make em, but his body was very well suited to fit the Pico Gws servos. I will post pics of him here and at RCgroups.com. I was able to fit not only a reciever, but also the V tail mixer board within the body cavity negating the need to put in a small, metal/wood/plastic torso in place of the original.

I have one of Theo's chutes, it is very nice. |
Hi,
Yes Theo still makes chute's, but only by appointment and has too busy with the new characters to experience that.Theo has a lot to do this year. Greetings |
I still have a few kits in my inventory that would sell about 18 in tall and work great
