Hi Guys ,
Returned home from Walldorf , the first Rc Skydiving event in Germany this year , It was a smash ! Great weather , 80°f temps , wind 3/4 miles , clear blue sky , Perfect ! With 38 participant a well intended Contest , age variating from 5 to 74 ,newbies and old timers like my self , a nice mix and a very pleasant buns of Skydivers . The drop planes where as usual the famous OHA'S , they can take 3 divers up in one flight . The Contest went very smooth , no hurry or worry no tree landings , no dirt dives no drop plane crash . If only all events could be like this ! :D The Modellflieger Club Walldorf and its members can be proud of the well organized and run event , from keeping score to the catering , thank you . ,Jules Some photo's of the event |

Good morning Jim ,
Don't worry , there are not that many contests we are going to intend this year . The most of the German events are to far in distance from where we live . The fuel prices are sky high , and rising and rising ! Who Won ? not this Guy ! 1/ Rachner Stefan ( 14 years ) 2/ Beuteman Thomas 3/ Roch Michael . 9/ Etzkorn Stefan . . 12/ This Guy . . .17/ Veasen Theo So you see ,no Worry for Muncie Jim . TV Products has a new chute and I am test flying it on every occasion we have . This chute is with wing lets , I bring it with me to Muncie in September , so you can fly it your self . ,Jules |

Is that young lady in the one picture flying the jumper that is landing in the circle, if so fantastic job. nice group of particpants and like you said they seem to be enjoying themselves. Good pictures of the event. fair winds and blue skies BOB |
RE: Images from this week-end
Hi Bob ,
I love to see these kits fly much better than the old timers can , the Skydivers in to the target area . This is the generation that grow up with a joystick and computer games ! After the contest when the ziegerehrung is going on , these kids are surprised that they are ending for dad and are very happy when they are receiving a trophy for there achievements . We can only hope that they will keep the hobby going for a long time , And I think as long they are enjoying themselves they will , we have a extra classification for under 12 years for extra stimulation of these youngsters !. ,Jules |

Hi Guys ,
We had a nice Rc Skydiving Sunday , again at The "Bergeijkse Modelvliegclub "in Holland . These people are so nice to inviting us every time they are having a Club Sky Diving "FUN" contest , Thanks for the hospitality you all. This time there where 15 competitors . Alfred Rachner (Multiple German Skydiving Champion ) and his son came over from Germany having a nice Sundays Skydiving to, and having fun among friends . The atmosphere was very relaxed , no hurry for anything . No tree landings , just a few walks in the surrounding fields , and one retrieve from the local cow population ( they were very interested in what was landing in there meadow ) The only crash was from Pieter Visser , he mis judged the landing of his OHA drop plane and demolished the landing gear and the prop [&o] . The weather was a strange mix of sun wind and clouds 20°c , it was the last day off a very long dry spring , 38 days and not a drop off water , you can see that on the flying site every thing is dry and dusty . Greetings to all off you , Jules Some photos off the event |
RE: Images from this week-end
You will be tough to beat in Muncie, all of that combat experience. I have made one drop since November due to weather and other excuses.
Is that a Flying FORKS shirt I see on "Lundy"? Paul |
RE: Images from this week-end
Hi Paul , You better getting some competition practice in the Kentucky Rally , that is coming up soon :). Hope you have a good time over there , I think it will be a great event ! , These Kentuckians know how to make things enjoyable ! :D Yep thats a " Flying FORKS " shirt you see , and I am wearing it with pride , it was a gift of a good friend ! How was your OHA flying with the new Spektrum system ? no problems ? ( hope not ) Pieter Visser has to repair his OHA after a little mis happening last Sunday , nothing serious the plywood reinforcement of the landing gear got torned out . , Lundy |
RE: Images from this week-end
Great pictures! Looks like a perfect event for weather, turnout, and competition. If Lundy and Jules finished 12th and 17th, I would hate to compete against the top 11 people!:D Looks like the field you are flying at is super nice, really open and well maintained. Keep sending in pictures, and hope for more ralleys like this one!

RE: Images from this week-end
Hi Jules,
The OHA flew well with the Spektrum DX-7 system. After the day's flights I felt I needed a throttle cut controlled by a TX switch. I had been using the ignition switch to stop the motor. I finally accomplished the program mix to cut the throttle - much safer. Went flying today but no jumps. I need to have a good excuse at Somerset and it's coming soon. Don't know whether to take the Wilga or the OHA. Two much different models. I'm in the process of putting the lamela (sp) in the Wilga cowl. I hope that enough cooling air is available. Paul |
RE: Images from this week-end
Hi Dave ,
This flying site is belonging to the Dutch Model club " Bergeijkse Modelvliegclub " they having +/- 35 members and 10 / 12 off them are enthusiast Rc Skydivers , they are keeping regular club competitions to keep up the good spirit and the friendship under the Skydivers , just for the fun ! This flying site is indeed very well maintained , and very open on 3 sides , on one side there is a forest off not to large trees . We ,Theo and Jules are living in Belgium just over the Dutch / Belgium border , there are not so many Skydivers in this area . The people of the Dutch club are so nice to invite us every time they are having there club competition , to increase the action [8D] I will try to keep up with the reports off Skydiving events we are visiting in the future . Hope to see you in Muncie Dave ! , jules |

Hi Paul ,
The throttle cut is the same as the on the 9Z Wilga program? I like that very much , on the Wilga and the Le Tracktör I use it to ! Paul send in some photo's off the cooling blinds when ready ? I have finished them on my Wilga ! "Looking Great " ,jules |
RE: Images from this week-end
Hi guy's
I've been getting my drop plane ready for Somerset, I put in a battery set up from Electro Dynamics that uses two batteries and two switches for redundancy plus a battery monitor. I currently have an engine kill programmed in the radio, plus the fail safe feature of the PCM receiver to take the throttle to idle in case of signal loss. I plan to install a fiber optic kill switch before the meet, as soon as I figure out how to connect it to a 9 channel receiver with no empty slots. I may use a reversing Y for the dual elevator setup to free up a space. Six members from our Club will be going down to South Carolina this coming weekend for the Joe Nall event, if any skydivers plan to be there maybe we can meet up and discuss strategy. GaryV |
