Using Smoke??

Has anybody got info on the smoke factor.

What to use? How does it work?

We have played with smoke several times. We bought our smoke canisters from R/C Smoke. We used there ignitor setup also, it lites like a model rocket electric ignitor. We added the electrical system to the jump plane and you just lite the smoke before you let him drop. It worked very well just don't land the chute on top of the smoke canister during landing, it is hot enough to melt your chute.

I have also used smoke a few times the same way Dave did but finally stopped. It wasn't very practical and the smoke was very thin and hard to see. Also almost burned up a chute a few times after landing with the smoke still going. It's not worth the effort. Lundy has used smoke and has a different rig than Dave and I used. He may could give you some advice too.

We have done some jumping with smoke in the past .
First of all the stuff I used is "Poison" where gloves when handling .
Second when flying your jumper over grassland ore forest " YOU ARE FLYING WITH FIRE UNDER YOUR JUMPER "
When jumping, make sure your parachute is diploid and is steering correctly, before igniting your smoke flair .
If the diver is landing in your parachute ,you end up with a big burning hole in your chute !

Some photos of the setup I used ,this is not meaning there is no other way of doing this .
TowerHobbys was selling these smoke flairs in the past
The wire where the fuse is going through is chrome wire.
