Newbie with questions??

I've got a RCSkydive USA diver using two servos. How do you guys hook them up? I was thinking about trying to use a program mix and put everything on the throttle stick. I have seen some people use rubber bands to keep the sticks up. Is there a standard "right way" to do this?
Next question is: Assuming I get him to drop from the plane and assuming I get the chute to open and assuming I make a safe landing. How do you know whether you need to adjust the chute. I can understand the left and right portion, but, how do you know if you have the tension of the steering lines correct? I am assuming if it is too loose it will not stall for a landing, and too tight it won't move forward.
Any help would be appreciated.

I beleive there should have been a cd in the pack from RC Skydive USA how to hook up the servo linkage and adjustments if not we have some very knowledgable folks to help you
most use a 2 stick transmitter and eather hook a rubber band around antenna to give a full throw to the servos or I mod mine to go left and right , personnel pref I guess- You need all the throw you can get

Sounds like you pretty much have it figured out with the turning a forward. For the sticks I use rubber bands for the springs but modify the inside of the transmitters to hold the stick up just like the divers arms the left stick is the left arm and so on. Modifing the inside the transmitter makes it look more like it was made for that purpose. I get funny looks when I pull out the DX6i with both stick stuck up...

RE: Newbie with questions??

I buy and mod a lot of older 4 ch Futaba radios and have the same look when I pull them out at Flying Clubs or meets
I change the springs and do some simple mods inside and put the not used parts in a bag inside the case so if customer wants they can convert back to orig
Some times I do a custom setup to do some other (Cant tell yet) things without doing something I shouldnt on the transmitter

I place a custom decal on mod trans to make sure its not picked up and used for something else

Not a reg Item of RC Skyjumper just as a asked for setup

Thanks I appreciate the info. Unfortunately I still need to be able to use the transmitter to fly some other things, so I guess I'll go the rubber band route.
