Default Looking for a 1/8 Buggy Kit

As the title says I am looking for a 1/8 buggy kit and kit only. I do not know much about 1/8 buggies but from what I have heard they are quite a lot of fun.

It must be nitro.
It must be something I can beat the snot out of and keep going.
Price? Nothing too absurd. Keep it reasonable.

As of right now I'm looking at the D8 kit. There are already 2 guys in my club that are running them.

Thanks.

You going to be racing it, or bashing?

I'm not a 1/8 buggy expert by any means, but I've heard a lot of folks say that Ofna 1/8 products are usually very durable and I think reasonably priced (depending on the kit of course). I think the D8 is also supposed to be nice. AE products are always durable and nice, but not sure if they're out of your price range. Sorry I can't offer much more advice than that. [&:]

the D8 won the 2008 IFMAR worlds. if you are willing to go truggy, tamiya still has the 801xt in S&D. otherwise, i fancy [link=http://www.amainhobbies.com/product_info.php/cPath/1_44_48/products_id/185951/n/Team-Durango-DNX408-1-8-Competition-Nitro-Buggy-Kit]this[/link] myself. (i wonder how many "this" links there are...)

ive owned the D8 and its a good tough buggy, and easy to drive but parts wear fast but then again its cheap. Mugen are great, very durable and last longer and handle better IMHO. ive only broken/replaced, one rear arm and one front arm on buggy and truggy. with the D8, i broke spurs, drive shafts, bent shock tower, tanks, etc. i think i ended up putting Kyosho spurs on the D8.

but all in all, go with what you feel you'll be happiest with. if you are racing, stick to name brands (Mugen, AE, Losi, HB, Agama, Serpent, xray, durango)

I might be doing racing in the future. But I will mostly be bashing the hell out of it.

are you being intentionally vague? it sure seems like it, although i have no clue what additional info would help make the decision. pretty much all i can say is pick one and run with it http://www.amainhobbies.com/index.ph...1-8-Buggy-Kits

Hahaha. I pretty much was cumquat. I was looking for people's personal opinions on 1/8 buggies and which ones seem to work better / are of higher quality.

With that question your gonna have the whole line up of kits on your list, and really be confused!! Kinda like asking how long a piece of string is. Do the research and pick the one you like best. Generally if it's a competition kit, it's of good quality, just a little tip.

This is what we do. It pretty much has to survive this. The D8 does pretty well, but sometimes breaks. My revo brakes half way through the vid.
