Well I'm interested in getting into rc and I'm wanting to start with a 1/8 th buggy. I've been looking at different brands from exceed, redcat, losi and others. I'm trying not to go over 500 to get started. Any advice would be greatly appreciated

i would stick with Losi, Team Associated, HotBodies, or Ofna for something thats less than $500. the quality and support is far better with the name brands. pretty much anything on amainhobbies.com would be a decent choice. are you planning on racing or just bashing around in the yard? if racing, the Losi RTR is the way to go

I'm not gonna sit here and tell you what to buy, but like stated above, stay away from the cheapo models and get a reputable name brand, even if you are just bashing, nothing worse than breaking something and having to wait till your ordered parts come in, do some research and find the one that suits your needs best. You really do get what you pay for in this hobby.

i have seenassociatedrc8be kits going for $289 on ebay. that is a smokin deal on a good quality name brand car. the rc8.2e is out now so there are some good buys on these cars.
