Default Team Associated Nomad DB8

Another one I did not see coming. I love the look!

From Associated's website:

Born from the sand and destined to roam the earth, the Nomad DB8 is a tough, powerful, all-terrain dominating Desert Buggy based on the race-proven RC8 platform's unprecedented balance and incredible cornering performance. The Nomad DB8 form follows function with a durable impact-resistant roll cage, detailed interior, driver and co-pilot figures, painted body panels, and runs off a powerful Reedy brushless motor. To tame the unforgiving landscape, high-grip General Tire GT(R) Grabbers are wrapped around rich-looking black 17mm hex wheels.

would love to see 1/8 SCB take off... hopefully they figured out how to swap battery packs quickly (unlike the Axial fail) ... judging by the body posts I have to assume the cage mounts like a traditional body ( I hope).

SCB class, DB class, what ever you would call it...that would be awesome! Same length as Losi's SCBE, and Thunder Tiger Bushmaster. The weird/awesome thing about the platform...it's based off the old RC8! Re-purposing old chassis, and parts? I would have never guessed it. Curious to view the manual and see what parts are the same.

Now that I see this Nomad platform, I sure wish it was around before the Yeti came out. There's just something about having a driver & navigator figure, and a roll cage to make a RC platform look...right.

The manual and parts listing is now out. Truggy chassis...so I'm guessing a 5cm (2") longer wheelbase than a normal 1/8 buggy .I can't wait to see a side by side comparison.

I'd go on YouTube and check out the videos of them running. I have to laugh, 'cause one guy used the Nomad in a U4RC race; took a pretty good lickin'. That's exactly what I envisioned if my Yeti and RC8.2e hooked up and had kids. Nomad's stock servo not up for the job? Just like any other RTR, you'll find good and bad things about the platform. The way I look at it, the RC8's genealogy being in there, gotta be a tough cookie.
