Arrma 1/8 Raider XL Mega discontinued? alternatives ?
TLDR: Is the Arrma 1/8 Raider XL Mega discontinued ? Are there any good alternatives 1/8 for under 300$ RTR ? (no battery is fine, I have some)
I currently own a 1/16 Traxxas Slash, It’s pretty fun but I d like something a lot larger that I can use on a lot more terrains, hence looking for a 1/8.
At the same time I don’t really want to spend a fortune, as long as it candy 30mph it’s fine, but bonus points
If it can be upgraded (brushless, limo, etc …)
I was really interested in the Arrma 1/8 Raider XL Mega, but it seems discontinued, some sites say it will be back mid July but not sure I believe it.
Some brushed ones can still be found, I suppose I could start with that and upgrade it later …

I don't know that it's been discontinued, but more of delay because of the the whole Hobbico vs. Traxxas incident.
Since you posted in the 1/8 scale section, is that a must have scale? A lot, if not most, of 1/8 scale RCs are 4wd. I don't know of too many other 2wd 1/8 scale buggies unless you look at the UK sites have Acme Racing and FTX buggies.

There are a couple of decent 1/10 monster truggies (that what I call them anyways) out there that aren't 1/8 scale, but would do many types of terrain better than a low slung 2wd 1/8 buggy. If you go in the 1/8 scale 4wd realm of things, you will more than likely go over the $300 budget, unless you go to something like the DHK Zombie, or get a good deal on a used platform.
