hi all , i have a hyper 7 that has been in storage for years
i lost 2 wheel nuts on its last run and havent had it out for years as kids came along and spoilt the party
since im in lockdown and lots of time on my hands i thought i would order a set of wheel nuts and try to get running again
is there anything i need to do before i give this a go
hand controller and steering etc seems fine
got the heating unit (sorry cannot remember what it is called ) on charge
thanks for any advice in advance

i got my wheel nuts and fitted them today
took the glow plug out and mad sure the battery unit had charged ok
the glow plug lighted ok
filled the fuel tank and covered the exhaust to draw fuel to the engine
engine seemed to start ok but after a short time cut out
i found a small hole in the fuel line to the engine
cut this back a bit , primed again and ran out for a short time
after a short time it cuts out as though it is starved of fuel
tried this a few times and always the same
tried it whilst blipping the throttle and seemed to run a little longer but all with the eventual result of the engine cutting out.
i was gonna adjust the idle slightly out but when i put the plat screwdriver in it seemed to be slightly the wrong angle without loosening the exhaust. it was about this time i looked through the fence and saw my neighbour who looked a bit peed off so i decided to stop there
im not sure if this had started to happen the last couple of times i had it out before the wheel fell off
thanks once again for any help

HoBao tanks usually have a fuel filter copper element in them. This gets tarnished/corroded over time. I just ran into this issue after reviving my hyper 8.5 after 10 years on the shelf...
my inline fuel filter had gunk clogging it up, and eventually choking fuel flow. I tried cleaning out the tank really well, and probably knocked most of the tarnish gunk out of that tank filter, but there was still some coming out and being caught by the in-line filter today. I have a new tank on order. I may try again before the new tank arrives... I probably need to try sloshing some gasoline around in the tank to knock the rest of the corrosion loose and flush it out.

Some that were “into it” in the past and put their stuff up and got out of it are now dusting their cars off and either getting them running again or selling them off. I have several nitro engines I don’t need anymore, so I’ll be selling those off. Not exactly “barn finds”, but useful nonetheless.
