KYOSHO INFERNO SPORTS 7.5 RTR Yes o No
Hi Guys! I´m thinking of getting a Kyosho Inferno Sports 7.5 RTR. I´m completely new to nitro cars and have no idea about them or mecanics.I have a Stock electric Tamiya Clodbuster which I recently restored and this has made me want to try nitro.
Is this Inferno rtr car a reliable car? will I have a lot of trouble to do the run in? or to get it to run? what maintanence does it need doing? I read some bad posts about the plastic pinion or the low & high speed needles.is this true?
The other thing is that I found it at www.rcmart.com (Hong Kong) for 310$
and at TowerHobbies (USA) it is 450$
Transport from both places is about 70$ to Europe
Anyone bought from rcmart.com? price seems very good..
Do you see any problems from buying it of rcmart?
Thanks for your help

Splash, if you choose to buy the inferno rtr you won't have to replace the plastic spur gear right away. Most people, as well as myself would recommend that you change it once you make an engine upgrade. I found it to be quite reliable and durable with the stock GS21. As far as the durability issue, I had mine for 6 months bashing around at the local bmx track taking any and every jump with ease. Here recently though, I have started to upgrade to the Kanai III parts. The major reason I purchased the rtr version was to get accustomed to driving 1/8 scale, as well as the fact that i didnt want to come out of over 1000 bucks up front just to own an inferno. So I purchased the rtr so that I could upgrade over time. Go ahead and get the rtr, trust me, you won't regret the decision.....Jay

That's an awesome price! I've been very happy with my sports rtr. It took me 10 tanks to strip the spur.[X(] The engine runs well and starts within 2 or 3 pulls. If you're a newbie like me, get it!

Good price from rcmart, however, anything coming out of Hong Kong to where I live (Canada or USA) costs a crapload for shipping & handling (say $75 for a $350 product). Not sure if the same will result with you in Spain, best to ask first.
The MP7.5 Sports is a pretty good bashing car and alright for club racing, I have mentioned in other threads that differentials and the spur gear could use upgrades and the rest of the car is fairly good but has slightly weak shock towers which are easy to replace from teambluestar on ebay, his shock towers can be bought cheap (as little as $9 USD per tower). My father has Ofna MBX Pro blue tires with dish rims, Team Bluestar shock towers, steering block, steering slider and alum chassis braces so far. I haven't gotten around to fitting my spare Ofna MBX center diff with steel spur gear yet.
Like Cool_Jay, in the long term it's a great idea to eventually convert it into a Kanai then you'll have a top notch buggy and get a kick ass motor for it.

ZiZi, I have just replaced my gs21 with an OS RG, you will need to purchase a new flywheel, clutch bell, bearings, engine mount, engine mount spacers, and an exhaust header. Hope this helps....Jay

Kyosho Inferno MP-7.5 Sport/GS .21R
poor kyosho (INFERIOR) rtr sports (not).
hi i recently bought 2 inferno 7.5 rtr from a local model shop in cumbria and so far both cars have used 8 clutch springs 5 of them on engine run in the other three after engine run in any ideas why.my local model shop owner doesnt know why nor do i nor does ripmax? mine has also snapped a flywheel clutch housing pin and had new clutch shoes on running in engine. my theory is that the clutch shoes have been fitted the wrong way round from the factory.im going to the model shop saturday to tell him my findings.it is the only thing i can see where there is a problem? also do you have a customer services number so i can tell kyosho about this problem. the cars are supposed to be fun but dont even go. please help us cheers scott. 1 week later used 7 more springs.sent back 2 ripmax who sent.me engines back and gave me 2 kc 45racing springs.6 tanks later snapped again. i phoned them 2 day and now they are sending me 2x kc45 clutches & springs to try. very dissapointed customers here. i wouldnt reccomend inferno mp7.5 sports to any one who wants to get out &play hassle free.very poor customer service

Which would be better, the 7.5 Sport RTR or OFNAs PCR-RTR? I guess the OFNA is a bit more $$$ outta the box, but it seems as tricked out as a Kanai II!!!!.
Bottom line, what's the best 4WD RTR buggy (DON'T say the SVM Chrono, I might have to come smack 'ya )
