I had a Jr z590 on my Ofna and the top of the case cracked and started leaking grease from the gears after my first two jumps at the local track. I replaced it with a [link=http://www.shopatron.com/product/product_id=RCD32645J/110]Hitec [/link]. I have gone through three races with the servo and it has been perfect. I sent my JR in and they replaced it with a free servo. I now have a spare just in case.

Z9000 for steering and Z590 for throttle you will have a good combination. I like the similar combination
Z8800 for steering and Z590 for throttle.
You will feel you drive a new car.

That's a seriously fast servo, torque is adequate. I hope you're a good driver, or you may find that servo a bit too much steering for you...I've seen many drivers get super servos, and end up slowing them down...

By the way, it's also very expensive. If you've got that kind of money to spend, I think you'll find this one a better choice...

0.10 is fast enough for anyone, and $20 is not to be sniffed at. Not to mention the 200oz-in of torque will make the servo feel really smooth and nice in even the most extreme conditions.

get sanwa erg-vx and it will give excellent torque ang great durability too .........

Works like a charm. Its cheap because its a like a clothing thing. Ralph Lauren charges hundreds of dollars for a 10.00 shirt. There is nothing magical, just his brand name attached. Blue Bird doesn't have the name brand charge attached to its prices that Airtronics/Sanwa, Futaba, JR, Hitec (well not so much Hitec) have.

I think its a Futaba type spline and a JR plug. It may be backwards of that. Call Nitrohouse to find out for sure.




It is the plastic piece that goes on top of the servo. From this piece there is a steering rod that connects to the car somewhere to cause it to steer. Well, its a little more complex than this, but if you are asking what a servo horn is, we will stick with that description for now.

Er, I can't believe I'm the first to say this, but, er....they're bluebird, and they blow up, and they strip gears, and there is generally a reason why they are so cheap. Do a search, you'll find a few threads about bluebird servos.

Kx, you're right in a way about branding, but not exactly. You can't tell me a Ralph or a Paul Smith shirt doesn't feel and fit better than one you pick up at a market. You don't really believe there is no difference at all do you? I agree they're not worth the HUGE hike in price, but they are certainly superior to cheap imitations. The same goes for these servos, maybe they use the same motors, but that's where the comparison ends, and that's why the specs are the same, (the rest of this post is theory as I must confess I haven't tried them, but I won't either 'cos I've heard too many bad things about 'em), but I reckon everything else, right from the metal used to make the gears, the plastic used to make the cases, and even the solder used to assemble them, is cheap and nasty and won't last, hence the stories of the cases breaking, the gears stripping, and the catching on fire. I know they've improved the cases now, but you get my point. I've yet to hear about one successfully used for racing. Vti-chris has a couple, and so far so good, I'm waiting to hear from him the next time he goes hard at the track...I am happy to be proved wrong, if it turns out that way, as it will save me some money, but as I always say in this hobby, going cheap is ALWAYS false economy.

Maybe you are right but then again we hear stories of other servos going bad every day.A lot of things affect the life of the servo.
How you drive is THE most important.Although the more expensive servoscan take more beating(in theory), a blue bird can "win" if you take care of it.
I do drive carefully and avoid crashing and up to now they haven't let me down once on our HARD track...

i know of about 10, 620mg not last more then an hour or 2 each. They where probably all from the same store, so may be a bad batch, no warrenty on them from where they were bought. That is what i know about them. Buyer beware.

If you get a warrenty on them give them a go

Plus I don't find one with spec.s I like, they're all EITHER fast OR torquey, none is both.

I also heard they don't have a warranty, forgot to mention that, but it seems their customer support is good, replacing chris's cases for free, and without him even having to ask...impressive.
