Default OS RG .21???

Im getting this in engine in afew days and the only pipe I got for it is the HPI ribbed pipe for low-end power...I ran this pipe with my hyper 8 port and it ran like it was a new engine..I was wondering would i gotthe same results with this engine and the pipe? also its a OS and I LOVE os engine the CV and CV-R i had for mt 1/10's were fansatic easy to tune and great engine life at 6-7 gals and still running...so would I have the same results? I cant wait to finish out this season..I LOVE THE 1/8 BUGGY CLASS...WoOt wOoT

I run a JP-1 pipe with mine, but the JP-2 will give the Top end lacking RG more top end. IT will sacrafic some bottom end, but the RG has more than enough thta it won't be missed.

hands down best pipe fopr it is the OFNA .063 and run a 14t CB on it....1.0 springs and carbon shoes....it will snatch the wheels and GO.....

What he said, except use mugen aluminum shoes, and maybe a JP-2 if you are running on longer straights. JP-1 or .063 on shorter straights.

I don't think I would want to run Aluminum shoes with a 14T clutch bell? Grab too much??

The Jammin JP2 is the best IMO. It has the bottom end of a 053 and the mid and top end like a 086. All with a crush resistant stinger...Works very well on any high torque engine like the RG.

w/ a 14t CB I found I got better top end w/ the JP-1 and it got there faster too...the only place I saw better to pend w/ the JP-2 was on a 15t CB, but it was like getting a dog sled team started....took forever to get going and I even used 1.1 springs w/ aluminum shoes....it was still a dog......I did try all the combos I had of Clutch setup and pipe on my engines.....maybe I got too into the whole process but it was a great learning experience and I got to see first hand what th effects of different pipes and CLutch setups actually do....using the RG as the only controlled part of the process...

try the Ofna .063 w/ it..that's a nice combo...it's maybe 20 bucks less than a JP-1 and has a similar power curve.....

For the RG, I would recommend the 086 or JP-2 over the 063.

Ive been told a true Rb o86 pipe is the way to go, but why spend as much on a pipe as an engine?

So would the OS 21 be a better engine than the Force 26 or even the HPI .28?

hands down to the os rg, its way better than the force 26 and hpi 28

the rg is the most reliable, easy tuning, engine i've ever had, its also the cheapest
you won't be sorry

The Ral Micron line of Novarossi, is their attempt to make bargain engines. It is not a special model, just a cheaper one. Much like OS has the $300.00 V-Spec, and the affordable, less powerful RG.

When you go wide open on the ground, there is tons of resistance keeping the motor from revving too high. The air resistance slowing the car down, the rolling resistance of the tires against the road, and the force of inertia, which is trying to keep the car from moving. When you prop your car up on a stand, and run it wide open, there is no resistance keeping the engine from over revving, and spinning itself to pieces. I must ask, why did you feel the need to run the car wide open on the starter box? I find it rare (if at all) when I ever run my engine wide open, under any circumstance. These engines can spin 30k-40k RPMs, or 500+ times PER SECOND. Just imagine what kind of forces are going on inside that engine to allow that.

Not to mention that when the car is stationary, the cooling is much less.

That is just like the OFNA 086, but OFNA is cheaper.
I have used the JP-1, JP-2 and 086 pipes with the RG. The RG has tons of bottom end already. The 086 and JP-2 are top end pipes and allw the RG to rev out a bit more.

I own and run the JP-1 on my RG right now. After testing my buddies JP-2 on it, I'm gettng one for it!!

Did you notice a temperature difference between running with the JP-2 instead of the JP-1?

I didn't notice a big spike in temp. Maybe 5F degrees, if that.
I'm running 30% O Donnell's and it was running good against some other P5's and 421's.
