Default Ravager wont stay started!!!!

Ok, bought an ofna ravager about 2 months ago and from the go I hated the pull start. I would get it started and at idle I would here a chink sound and the motor would stop?? Well after about 10,000 attempts to get it started I went and bought a ofna starter box for the car, well same thing is going on, I get it started then chink!!!!! Over and over and over. It idles for about 2 seconds then chink. My question is do they have a back plate for the ravager engine, I think the problem is the pull start......I can see the pull start almost flick when I hear that chink sound......Any Ideas??? And yes, I have set to factory Presets and still no luck....

is the engine new? try giving it some throttle when you start it. is it the force 28, or 32?

i doubt its the pullstart that is your problem. Did you try raising the idle? That "chink" sound is the motor stalling and yanking on the pullstart cord making it smack the head i think. Try raising the idle first.

It could be the one way bearing on the pull start, try cleaning it. I have had them slip, but never stay engaged, but I guess it could happen.

My Ravager had the same problem during my first few tanks of fuel. I had to run it really rich and ebaby the piss out of the throttle. Once it loosened up a little (about 8 tanks) it runs great and is easy to tune, and rarely ever dies!! The clink sound is just the clutch bell ringing when the gear backlashes!!

I also hear that "chink" sound whenever the engine stalls on idle. I suspect the sound comes from the backplate where the starting shaft is. To keep the engine from stalling, why don't raise the engine idle speed then richen your low speed needle this might help.
