Default -OFFICIAL CASTER RACING FUSION EX-1 BUGGY THREAD-

Well the Caster Racing Fusion EX-1 is officially out for sale now!! For $350 bucks you cannot beat it!! Half the price of other electrics coming out soon and the same performance. I just got mine in today! The buggy is awesome. I did not think I would like the wing by how it looked in the pics but up close it is really sweet. All that you need to get it up and running is Brushless motor, esc, radio and batteries! Hopefully will have some electrics for it in a couple weeks. Doing a little shopping and research on electrics before I buy. I am a newbie to electric. The body is really nice and pretty thick too, not a thin RTR like alot come with. Also the wheels are pretty sturdy and have bracing on the inside and even the wing holes are cut out for you ahead of time. So here is the thread to talk about em!

Here are some pics. ENJOY!!

Thanks guys! The more I look at it the less I want to wait to get it running! Have to be patient though.

I have read in probably a little over a month. BUT for the extra money it will cost you might as well buy rear axle CVD's and Center driveshaft CVD's and will the exactly the same as the KIT. The Fusion sport (the one out now) already has front axle CVD's. Will save you money compared to the kit.

Those are not the big bores. Here is a pic of the addendum. Directions are wrong and I made a new post somewhere else...

Yes, that is officially the first production 1/8 scale buggy that came to market about a month ago. We began work on it in March. It will be reviewed in the December RC Driver so keep an eye out for it.

and by the way, there will also be truggy versions of the fusion in the near future (November?) and the new Caster SCORE will probably debut around December. We can't have AE having all the fun with the SC8.... and yes, the SCORE will be available in nitro or electric versions. All of these are 1/8 scale and 70% of the parts are interchangeable....

We have been intentionally holding back to make sure we could provide the best products we could and we spent more time on research and development. Now it is time to actually move some products. I will put up the new Caster stuff against any other manufacturer in regards to quality and handling especially considering price. Everyone will know our name on the race circuit next year and just to make it fun, we will use non famous drivers to make the point. I cannot wait for a magazine to request a shootout and involve us in the mix.

They are not Big Bores but are some of the nicest non-big bores I have seen. The springs are just like on the big bores. Yes it is 1/8. Also it is not just a electric ZX1-R. The Chassis is completely different and also one of the main things is the drivetrain. All the diffs have new upgraded gears that are stronger, lighter and harder then before and the front shock tower has different geometry. Just like all the other Caster's too all the aluminum is CNC Machined and thick shock towers, no need to upgrade any of it.

Sorry but since I am new to electrics, are you talking about the hole in the middle of the pinion? Yes it does come with a pinion. It is a 13 tooth.

Yes, this batch and from now on is 5mm 13 tooth pinion and it is included! We were messing around with the idea of doing a brushed setup and then we remembered we were not a cheap chinese knockoff company like we have been so eloquently been accused of in the past.....lol.

it is a nitro body. When I was putting stickers on the side I was thinking about cutting the whole for the exhaust before I put the stickers on LOL!

Well after a frustrating time soldering (not used to it) my and a friend got the Fusion up and running at 11:30pm! Still took it out and ran it up and down the street. Acceleration was SICK!!! From a standstill it would about roast all 4 tires on concrete upon takeoff, and that was with 1 half dead 3300 and 1 charged 3300 NIMH cheap stick pack!! Wait till they are charged!!! I also got my 4600 matched cells I got built in the mail today. Will be wiring those up too very soon. All I can say is even with the non fully charged batteries I had in it tonight this thing would have KILLED my nitro in a head on race! Would not have even been close. Cannot wait to hit the track this weekend for a race in the nitro class

BTW it was awesome running past the neighbors house at midnight and not making a sound!!!!! Whole new experience.

Well went to the track tonight for some practice (YES I HAVE VIDEO BUT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD TOMORROW). The buggy was great. Only problem I had was on one of the jumps it wanted to go nose down more than I would like. I REALLY LOVED the instant torque coming out of the turns and even up to the face of the jump I could wait to pin it instead of having to get a run up the jump to clear. I was surprised how well it turned considering I do not have fluids in the diffs yet and I was running the stock wheels and tires. (THOSE STOCK FOAMS HAVE TO GO) Would be better if the tires did not come glued so you can install moulded foams. I did install a front swaybar on it too. Overall I really like it and was alot easier to drive then I thought.
