Default HOT BODIES D8

I just thought I would start this thread for people running the D8. I just started running the D8 and it is the best buggy I have run. My last two buggies were the kyosho 777 and GS Advanced, both OPS SFV21B powered. My OS powered D8 is racing at the next level.

The D8 is that much better than the 777? Kyosho makes a great buggy

dont get me wrong, the Kyosho is a great buggy I raced it for years and the new MP9 is even better but the D8 has better steering, better brakes, and better shocks than the 777. I just hope it will hold up. So far so good.

Nice looking buggy. The D8's look tough too. How do they handle bashing? From the design of the arms they look tough.

I started in the sportsman class five months ago but they said that I'm too fast for that class and recomended that I run with the pros next time out... I haven't raced in about two months, so..we will see what happens next time at the track... I will be at the Loganville track this weekend for some track time..

NOTE: I have been around rc cars for over 20 years and raced dirkbikes + BMX for a long time.. I was sponsored by Kawasaki in the Caribean leage and raced BMX (Factory GT) at the same time that I was racing dirtbikes in the late 80's early 90's... and all that experince has help my RC offroad skills

I will admit the D8 looks really nice but for now I am sticking with my Hypers. At my age and health the only thing that would make me a better driver is about $4000 worth of eye surgery. I all so do not have the time I had for racing. I have not raced in well over 6 months. []

Your buggy really looks nice. It has me contemplating one for the heck of it. Is it a one piece removable tray? Don't see alot of hop ups needed maybe a aluminum top plate, chasis braces and engine mounts. Looks solid is everything easy to get to sure looks like it. how easy are the F/R diffs to access. I love simplicity doesn't look to be to complicated. Two thumbs way up for the ride.

I have not raced in well over 6 months and hope one day to meet all at Loganville. Keep looking for the Rebel Racing Hyper 8.5 or Savage with a baby stroller as a pit cart. I have all ways been a big fan of HPI and being Hot Bodies is a sister company have had my eye on them. Wonder if the D8 inspiration for the one piece radio tray was inspired by HPI MT which has all ways had a quick one piece removable radio tray?

yes, it is a one piece tray, it has a two piece hard coated cnc mount and the diffs are very easy to pull out...
here is the engine mount,
