Default Is my engine a Pro 21 Turbo

I recently brought a Thunder Tiger Pro 21 off ebay and he listed it as a turbo
It was a bargain £27

Can anyone tell by looking at the engine bellow if it is a turbo

Turbo refers to the style of plug. Take the plug out and see if it has a taper on it. It should look something like this:

Unless the guy is referring to an actual "turbo" fan attached the pull-start mechanism. A buddy has a Hyper (Hobao) .21 and it had little fins on the the spin-start mechanism or on the back of the crank that looked just like a turbo fan.

There appears to be some confusion over the term Turbo here.
K B is pointing to a turbo plug engine, which in most terms IS what a turbo engine is reffered to.
In this case though the hobao engines refer to a turbo engine as one fitted with a little fan on the crankshaft. This fan disperses fuel more efficiently for combustion.
So to answer you question Bry, yes it is a hyper .21 turbo, but it is not a turbo plugged engine.
Hope that clears it up

Ok you are all correct. But OFNA does makes an actual "TURBO" style engine. The backplate of the engine has a turbofan style design, its meant to put more air nitro mixtures into the engine, however that engine does not use a TURBO plug..

There are some engines like for instance the OS.21 VZ serioes they have a bump start back plate but require a turbo plug.

Thanks for that
I have seen them before and wondered how they are fitted.

By looking at the picture it needs a good clean, so i will strip it down and rebuild it.
Thank you

Why do you say you got a Thunder Tiger when the guy said it was a Hyper 21?
