Default AE rc8 or HB d8?

Tell me you guys think... rc8 or d8. I have retired my used jammin x1, and ready to invest in a new buggy. Im looking at a RC8 or a D8. I like the layout on both, but have not driven either one. I have only practiced, never raced so keep that in mind. My local track is small, but very technical, with a nasty triple on the back side after a hard banked turn. Im planning on running either a grp promo kit or a Werks B7 with a werks 2013 pipe. I already have two AE 1015 servos. Any thing anyone can help my sway either way would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, check out the D8 thread on rctech for user feedback. Not sure if there is a rc8 thread on there.

The D8 is a great car that is well priced (got mine for $238 shipped when Microsoft Live was running the 30% rebate), very easy to work on, and durable. My stevie wonder driving skills have put the hurt on mine and it has somehow managed to hold together and not break. Parts are cheap so I pretty much have a spare car in the bag but have not had to use anything yet. This car requires a lot less maintenance than I'm used to compared to my old truggy.

Don't let the price fool you and dismiss the D8 like others do because it is not over $500. The bang for the buck is there. It comes stock with a quick change engine mount, big bore shocks and the toe plates are aluminum. It is user friendly...servo saver nut is on top and easily accessible as well as both brake adjustments knobs. I've read about and spoke to some about breaking cvd's but so far so good. I won't cry and want to get rid of the car if I break one either because the benefits outweigh any negatives...I've got spares plus Hot Bodies has been excellent as far as replacing them.

I was gonna get a mbx6 but got the D8 as my first buggy because I figured that I wouldn't feel so bad about trashing it while learning how to drive it since I got it for so cheap. Turns out that I'm more than happy with my choice and have no thoughts about replacing it anytime soon.

I'm running a Hot Mod Novarossi 21-5KT. Can't really recommend because I haven't been around the nitro game for that long but if you look around at the nitro off-road forum on rctech, there is a lot of good info and tons of "which motor" threads to read. Good luck!

thanks for your time. Im also considering the jammin X2 upgrade kit. Everything is still relatively tight on the jammin, just might "update" it. then figure on which motor I want to run. Have to step up from the sportwerks...
