Default Losi 8IGHT 2.0 RTR

Wow! I cant believe no one has posted this yet!

8ight 2.0 RTR- [link]http://www.losi.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=LOSB0084[/link]

Starter box and batteries, .21 losi engine, 2.0 radio tray and chasiss length, and the dx3s for only $700! This would be great for a racer who wants to be competative at a small price for what you are getting!

Wow, thats sexy. I just got the 8ight though (a little late, but still I love it), so I'm planning on getting the 2.0 next year.

The shock towers look to be a little flimsy though, as well as the chassis, along the lines of the 1.0 RTR, but the 2.0 RTR's parts are annodized which is an improvement (better than before at least). Price is definitely good!

I like it, but I wonder why they went with the blue anodizing. Looks like losi upgraded their starter box motors up to 775 units.

Looks nice in the video.. A question though. The race roller version of the 2.0 It comes assembled, with no engine elecs. etc or is it a true kit. I ask because i have a set of great servos and an os rz max engine that still runs great as well as the starter box etc. Wondering if you guys would suggest I go race roller at 529.00 or rtr at 700 when I dont need alot of the rtr stuff and would figure on upgrading the engine later anyway. Does the roller have any better parts then the rtr or is it the same with the addition of the elecs. motor etc?

You want a professional buggy at the best price you can get without the engine and electronics then get ZMXB-8 1/8 R/C Nitro Buggy Pro Kit [:-] Its a better kit sold at a good price

The race roller has a better chassis, front/rear chocktowers, and aluminum shock caps. I could be mistaken but it also has a better clutch too. I'm sure I'm missing a few other things too.

The old 1.0 RTR only had two aluminum shoes in the clutch with a 427 engine. Mine was short-lived; shoes fused to the bell in under a half-gallon and I had my EPAs set correctly, so I swapped out to a 3-shoe carbon clutch 'cause it was a free fix.

The roller has the kit parts, just preassembled (so I've been told). In that case it would have the hardened hinge pin brackets, TiN coated hinge pins, the steering king-pins are different (looks like the kit ones are TiN coated too), in addition to the thicker machined/anodized chassis and machined/anodized shock towers and aluminum shock caps (the RTR 1.0 also had different rear springs that were way too soft). I would suggest race roller. Unless you want to unload the extra equipment (I would keep that radio though unless you already have a good one) and use the money to upgrade the towers and chassis and other stuff.

LOL. Anyways this is a thread about the 2.0 RTR, not the Z Car. Anyways, I highly doubt the Z Car will ever be a better kit than the 2.0.

Yup, I just saw on Losi's site that they used one 775 motor. It would have been better if they used the 8ight/t box top. Would make starting alot easier.

Hey INTEGRA, have you got to run your 2.0 yet??? If so how does she handle compared to the 1.0??? I notice you live in Canada, so I'm not sure if you have an indoor track near you, or are you waiting for the weather to break like me ???? Your input would be greatly appreciated!!!

P.S. I don't think we even need to proove that the Losi is the "go to buggy" for just about ALL of the manufaturers, we know the Losi stuff is top notch.

ran it twice....once at the RHR in the WOR series...the front tower failed...so that test session was abruptly ended...then i Matrixified it up and went to the nats and it ran flawlessly....it did seem a lot tamer compared to the 1.0+2.0's i saw on the track....but then again with all the matrix stuff my buggy is actually Under Min weight for any Big Sanctioned event.....But....I do build/maintain a buddy's pair of 2.0's buggy and now truggy as of a couple day's ago and his buggy is a stock 2.0 and from what i saw it was handling pretty similar to mine but maby with a little more effort applied...buddy was running a Speed with M2c clutch....i was on a Mod V-spec with stock clutch...i went 10-11 min a tank with more then 30cc's+ buddy was doin about the same +/- 15cc's....the servo saver's were another thing that needs addressing.

That sounds awesome, but what is the problem with the servo saver??? Is it the adjustment that needs adressing or the whole saver???

Some people have been breaking servos or servo saver tops on the 2.0 buggy. I feel that all you need to do is loosen up the saver some as that's what I did on my 2.0 truggy out of the box. In stock form the saver wasn't even working at all because it was waaaay too tight. I loosened it up and now it works flawlessly.

the 1.0 T spring is the real solution.....the 2.0 is WAY too stiff...the coils are too thick compared to the 1.0 version's.

Wishing this thread hadn't died as I am trying to decide on the B or T 2.0. Is there another active thread here on either?
