Right now I'm currently a Jato owner and looking to get into 4WD 1/8th buggy scene. I would stay with traxxas if they would release a buggy but doesn't look like they are anytime soon so sellin the jato and lookin for moderately priced buggy. Just wondering if I should get the hyper 7 or the picco? Which of the two is newer and which of the two would be the best bet when it comes down to duribility, performance, and reliability. I plan on upgrading the radio system as soon as i get either of these with a faast system and 2 new servos.
Overall
Which of the two would be best choice?
How much could I get for the stock radio system/servos brand new?
Anyone interested in a jato? Comes with 3.3 1/2 gal and a OS .18tm just broken in!! rare engine.
Thanks!

the picco all the way. its better than the hyper 7 in every way possible. it comes with the same shocks that comes on all the Jammins now. the picco is pretty much an updated version of the hyper 7 and the 9.5 violator, it also has some things from the jammin X1. it is the best bang for your buck when it comes to RTRs IMO.

Neither, save some money and build a kit. You will be much happier and spend less
money in the long run. As far as a RTR goes the losi is a better choice as is the
Jammin X1. If you want my opinion the Jammin is the ONLY Hong Nor I would
ever consider. The Picco is not an updated Hyper, they come from two totally
different companys. The Hypers are made by HoBao. Either buggy is several generations
old and based on heavier outdated chassis.

Found this video today, thought it was quite halarious, considering the picco took it off the line but thats besides the point. This race track is like bumper cars cause it's some crazy hard grass with moss or something. Anyway handles pretty good but not much to say about these drivers...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WztQz...eature=related

it depends on how much you want to spend really but i got my self the jammin X1 CR( 1st buggy ) and i upgraded the servos and radio and love it man the only thing that sucks is if you race in big races then your going to have to buy a .21 but if you just do club races, practice or bash around then you'll be fine with the .28 is has, as far as durability it seems to hold up well and i gota say i flipped and tumbled a few times and hasn't broke yet, but i asked the same thing when i first started the buggy's and it seems the picco would be best choice, but if you want to spend a little more but not to to much then i would get a jammin if you want a RTR, im new at the buggy thing but i hope this helps a bit

i have purchased them both ways, the best thing about a RTR is you can run it the same day you purchase it,,upgrade as you go,,i can't say the kit was really any cheaper,,in this hobby it's never ending,,you always want to upgrade parts when there is something new

I bought my picco buggy last night.
- 120$
$514.91. Not too bad considering I'm getting new radio and 2 new servos right off the bat. I just have a question about break in. What method do you guys find the best for these? And How do you think i made out price wise, all in all. Thanks!

where did you purchase them ? that just looks high, the picco on amain is 289 i think and those servos cost 35 bucks a piece so that seems high but not to high. you still did good on your buy. and on break-in run it really rich but just lean enough so it idles, and idel it threw atleast 5-6 tanks and then just do figure 8s in the road and leave it rich and just give it about half throttle, always worked for me. no wide open throttle for atleast half gallon.

Don't idle 5 tanks through it!!!!
Get some foil and wrap the head, heat it with a hair dryer or heat gun to 190-200 and start it. It is hard to keep it warm running it rich, so use tin foil and check the temp all the time. Idle one tank... you may need to SLIGHTLY tap the throttle to get it to stay running the first tank. First tank sucks usually.
Now drive it 4 or 5 tanks VERY slow. Using foil and a temp gauge to keep it up around 190-200. Let the temp cool to <100 between tanks.
Now most people would say to start leaning it out and tuning it..... I say lean a little and run 1/2 gallon easy on it, with hardly any full throttle. I do mine at the track and just do boring laps and no big air. And letting it cool between each tank.

i'm probably to late ,ofna tells you to mess with the needles out of the box.do not and i quote "do not touch the needles yet.break it in with the needles at factory settings please.ofna does not make that engine they make the car only.picco makes the engine with that kit you will find a small booklet from picco that tells you te engine is already set at factory settings that is how you should break it in. i owned this car and made the huge mistake and reading the ofna instructions.

PICCO [sm=thumbs_up.gif]
your not going to fetch much, figure $45 or so. i say keep the system aside if you want to build a basher later on.
