Hyper 8 Wheels Dragging
 

Hi, I will try and explain my problem as clear as possible.

My Hyper 8 .21 3 Port has began to drag the wheels seems as if they are semi locked as if the breaks are partly applied. The gear mesh started making a strange kind of noise and I thought something was not right. Could it be the clutch is not dis-engaging? I hope people with more experience with these RC engines can advise. I can use it until this is fixed, im hoping something has just came loose the the flywheel or spring or something???

Any ideas thoughts etc would be much appreciated, cheers guys!

You need to diagnose through a process of elimination. Check mess and make sure the engine hasn't moved and messed up your mesh. Remove the clutch bell and look at the shoes, look for excessive wear or something inside the clutch bell. Check your differentials to be sure one of those isn't bad or having problems that would lock the wheels up. Lastly check the brake to be sure it isn't applying prematurely or something isn't jammed in there causing it to hang up. You are just going to have to look through it at all those points and figure out which one of these it is through eliminating them one by one.

I agree. It is process by elimination. I'd say either your brake pads are dragging, your gear mesh is jacked, your clutch is off, or there is an issue with a diff. I'd check inthat order.

Also check your wheel bearings. If one popped and got lodged in something, that would be a problem as well....although that would be pretty rare to stop the drive-train.</p>
